Sounds like a good idea. When you say an ammonia solution, what early do you mean? I'm going to start cleaning the entire juke and components so some advice on cleaning inside and it would be useful. May start another thread for that though.

Hi
For the pushbutton assembly the actaul keyboard contacts can be cleaned by using a dilute ammonia solution, i just submerged the contacts for about 5 to 10 minutes, rinsed a few times with clean water and dried , when you clean them you will be surprised by the amount of dirt taken off, re rest of jukebox deoxit for the slip rings , and elbow grease for the rest

If washing it--remove the latch solenoid, first----they do not like being wet!!

I think I found the solution for the pushbuttons always selecting 0. Apparently while disassembling, I caused a contact to make constant connection. It happens to be the contact actuated when a number is pushed! So with it already making contact all I had to do was push a letter! I backed it off a bit and no more automatic zeros! I'm assuming if that contamade, the juke will automatically play a 0 unless another number is latched before the letter.

Hi Ed,
Yep--that will happen--look at the schematic, and you will probably find "0" is connected when all buttons are "up". The closed contact is, of course, the "start" contact, so the phono thinks one of the number buttons is pushed when your start switch is closed--

Ron
You used Deoxit5 to clean he "rings", would CRC work better and is it possible that Deoxit5 would leave a residue on the "rings" preventing the WI operation?
There are several variations of CRC I am looking at CRC MARINE GRADE QD ELECTRONIC CLEANER SPRAY 11OZ SPRAY CAN
HELPS PREVENT CONTACT FAILURE QUICK DRYING LEAVES NO RESIDUE Cleans sensitive electronic components & contacts, what are your thoughts on this product to clean contacts and the "rings"?

Hi Darrell,
I use Deoxit 5 in this case just BECAUSE it deposits "something, that improves the conductivity of metal" on them--
I have found it works where others fail--BUT- only- if used egg-zact-lee, as per the can's instructions. I have also had fair luck using CRC "Letromotive Cleaner" followed by CRC 626 ( I think?)--but I have not seen the 626 in a rather long time--- Ron Rich
