Hi, My parents have a Aegean Classic Magnavox Imperial Stereo since the early 1960's. It is a beautiful Large distressed Walnut veneer and Pecan solid piece of furniture, and in perfect condition with the working Stereo, FM/AM radio and phonograph. They also upgraded it (at the time) with a Sony Reel to Reel on the left side of the sliding cabinet. They have sadly passed away, and my daughter, who is getting married is going to be getting it. She loves the retro look!!! Does anyone know the value? She needs to get renters insurance and does not know the value. My mother also kept the orignal brochure. I remember all of us singing along to our records as this NEW Stereo sound was Sooooo new and great. Thanks in advance for ANY info, Angie Ryan

What will the insurance allow you to do? Set the value or require an appraisal? I think the premimun would be too much either way. You need to get a local appraiser to assist you (at a cost probably) because they sometimes will put a figure on anything. I don't think it's worth the trouble. Take the back off and look for numbers stamped on the chassis. I know models similiar to it sold for $400.00 plus even in the 60's. But worth very little today. Ask yourself what would you pay for it had you not got it from your mom and wanted one because you remembered the good times.
