Try this simple mod: http://jukeboxwiz.com/resources/care-an ... r-wallbox/ This sets it up for free play. If you want coin operation, you'll need to wash the coin mechanism and check the condition of the coin switches.

Thanks Rob. My buttons push in easy but don't hold. I'm not really that mechanically inclined so I'd probably need to send it out for repair. Any suggestions?

When you insert a quarter any coin does the unit step-up and the "Select" light in the center under the titles go on? If not, try flipping one of the little credit toggles on the credit wheel.

Some pic's may help:

These are the credit toggles: http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-N ... ort=2&o=87 When a coin drops through a coin switch one of the little solenoids punches a toggle outward to establish credit.

When that happens, the signal wiper advances from it's at rest position seen here: http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-N ... ort=2&o=88

To the credited position seen here: http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-N ... ort=2&o=89 At this point the keys should lock-in when pressed. When both letter and number are pressed the unit will cycle and produce pulses that operate the stepper.

If the credit light goes on (check bulb) but buttons don't lock, try pressing both button at once. If the unit cycles the problem is in the leaf switches shown here: http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-N ... ort=2&o=70

We can talk about those later.

Remember that the 24 volt AC connections are Red and Green.

IF, you are saying that the buttons do not latch, when credit is established ( "select" lamp, is, or, should be on), most likely you need to lubricate the "locking mechanism". Once that is operating freely, if none of Rob's Geppetto friends have "adjusted it", it will operate just fine--if not, and you are sure it's free, it will need adjusting as shown in the service manual.
