RCA Victor PVCR 84 works great from one side

by chriswalstad » Sat Jul 19, 2014 2:03 am

Hello... My name is Chris and I was hoping someone could help me out with my new (to me) RCA Victor PVCR - 84. I found it at an estate sale in amazing condition. I've installed it in my home and love the system, however I'm experiencing some problems with getting sound from both inputs on the back of the amp. I've tried to clean them as much as possible but still no luck. I'm wondering if I can replace the input on the amp or do i need to purchase a new amp all together... not even sure if you can buy things like this any more. Thanks for all your help

Your best bet is to read some of the "stickies" on this site, and spend some time trying to locate a reputable restoration tech to perform the mandatory servicing this system requires.
Oh, and discontinue usage of the console for now, lest you burn up more irrepaceable parts.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.
