GE Console Record Player Model C716/G832

by jennajo1540 » Sat Jun 18, 2011 2:17 am

Hi, I recently acquired a GE Console Record Player, Model C716/G832. It is in great condition and the radio works perfectly; however, the turntable does not spin properly. I'm 95% sure that the deteriorated rubber wheel is the cause of the problem. The problem is that I can't find a replacement part and I'm not sure how I am going to replace the part once I do find it.

I live in New York City. Does anyone know of anyone in the area (I'm willing to travel a few hours) where I might be able to take the turntable to get it repaired? Or, if anyone knows where to get replacement parts and instructions on how to replace it myself that would be great too!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Ah, another "recently aquired" jewel...

Try Gary Stork on his "Voice of Music" website.
Tell him I (Matt) sent you.. and tell him I'm still backed up with phonograph restorations.
I'll be putting in yet another order with him soon for idler wheels and cartridges.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.
