Seeburg SC1 Wallbox

by NewquaySurfer » Tue Mar 03, 2015 9:53 pm

Hi Guys,
I'm a little confused?
I've a Seeburg 480LPC Juke and would like to add a SC1 Wallbox.
In the manual it says to use a RCSU5 stepper but the wallbox manual suggests the use of an RCSU4 stepper?
I've bought a SC1 wallbox. And have also bought a RCSU4-H5 235 volt.
I'm unsure if the RCSU4 is the right stepper for my juke? I've been looking for a RCSU5 but they seem to be hard to come by in 235 volt.
If the RCSU4 is the wrong stepper could I use the 235 trans former on a RCSU5 stepper?
Hope you can help.
Rich

Rich, the stepper's electronics are supplied by the control center. So if you have a working LPC that part of the stepper should work.

However, the transformer on the RCSU that provides 25 VAC to the wallboxes is directly connected to the mains and must be for 220-50. I believe all the mains tran on Seeburg export models have a red top.

IIRC, the difference between the RCSU 4 and 5 is that the 5 has movable taper pins on the stepper wafers to allow older boxes to be used, while the 4 was dedicated Consolette only.

I'm sure Ron is hovering and will correct if I'm wrong.....:-)

Hi Rob,
Many thanks for your reply. My LPC480 is working well now with your's and Ron's help last year :D .
Took me some 7 months to repair.
The RCSU4 I have has the red trans and the unit is marked RCSU4-H5 235 Volts.
So guess it is ok to hookup my SC1 wallbox, but will have the guy who recapped my amp and tcc to check the stepper out first.
Many thanks again
Rich

Hi Guys,
I've been looking for a schematic for my RCSU4-H5 stepper unit, can't find one anywhere? Has anyone got one? Or can I use the RCSU5 schematic?
Reason being that some one has cut through two of the caps? And they don't look like to be original, maybe someone's made a modification.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Rich,
The only difference between the 4 and 5, is the wiring to the contact plates--it's "changeable" on the -5 only, so that different wall boxes could be attached to it--fixed on the -4, so that only S C's, could be used. Schematics are the same.

Hi Ron,
Many thanks for your reply.
I'm struggling to find a schematic for either the RCSU4 or 5.
I've got the manuals but they don't go into detail regarding the schematic for the stepper.
Do you know where I can buy / get a schematic? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Rich

Rich,
If you have purchased a legitimate copy of the Service Manual from one of the suppliers listed above, and it's not there, ask them to supply you with page 16057 ( RCSU-4--LPC-1 manual) or page 16089 (RCSU-5--480 manual) . Ron Rich

Hover mouse and click fourth button to blow up.

Hi Ron & Rob.
Many thanks guys for your replies. You have been a great help.
Looks like my manual is incomplete. So thank you Rob for taking time out to find the schematic for my stepper.
I'll take the stepper to my repair man to check out before I connect up to my juke.
Will let you know how it go's.
Many thanks again and best wishes
Rich :D
