Ron,I can be a little dense at times.
Alba, The caps need cut out of the circuit and replaced regardless. There are plenty of replacements available. Don't waste time checking them. See "Required Viewing" at the top of the page. Have the transformer meggered if you are concerned about it. I have found through the years that tubes are rarely the problem. Some of my best sounding tubes are over 60 years old.

Yes--caps do change/loose value over time--and yes in MOST cases, a newer cap will be used--it may not look the same, or be in the "same container", but any good service person should be able to find or make, proper replacement choices. Other "things" in the circuit can also fail. "Transformers" usually can not be judged by their covers --If not leaky, and output is within spec., they are usually OK--Once again, a GOOD tech should check that, as, if leaky, it can be dangerous,or ever fatal to an end user ! Thanks guys for sharing your valuable experienced information. It is greatly appreciated. I'm new at this. The only information I can share with you pertains to drumming, drum sets and cymbals ect. I've been playing drums with bands in and around New Orleans since about 1968, I'm not that great but I picked up a few things here and there.
