I found this 1015 and restored it in 1991 and at that time I was 54 years old and did a pretty good job on it, I got the manual and was lucky to not need to do much to the selecting end of this machine other then clean and lube and adjust, as per manual book.....so here we are at the year 2010 and I am now 72 and a little slower and a little forgetful and my dear old friend, my Wurlitzer 1015 quit last night. I guess I was lucky for her to work great all these years.
I plan on hitting the book on trouble shooting and if I can't dope it out asking questions on this web site.
The problem....has a hum and I drop a coin, it clicks credits, green select window lights up, I make selections green select window goes out and she don't do anything, just sits there.

Yea--I know how it is to "get slower"--I've been around almost as long as you have !
First thing--I don't know what the "hum" is--so, I would un-plug the Amp, and motor prior, to applying power. Next I would see if the motor has jammed. I suspect it has, and you will need to rotate it backwards to "un-jam" it--then determine the reason for the jam, and "fix" it-- take it slowly, and you will prevail ! Ron Rich

SO EASY EVEN A CAVEMAN COULD DO IT.....Ron I want to thank you for your getting me off my butt. Your tips worked, the old gal was just staling me..the motor was locked up. I turned it back a few then forward and she freed up.
The hum was the (I think) the jukebox line cord laying across an old neon transformer, no hum now.

P.S. It may have locked up from lack of lube and I did oil and lube.

My Wurlitzer 1015 now has poor sound, mushie would be the best way to describe it and not much volume.
What all could I do to remedy this.

Has the amplifier been recapped?
