Motor details needed for Aeolian Vocalion c. 1915

by Jim McLay » Wed Feb 10, 2016 4:58 pm

I wonder if any members could send me the make and model of the
turntable motor used in their Aeolian Vocalion?

I got one a few years ago which is unfortunately missing the turntable,
tone arm and horn (probably ripped out in the 1940's to accomodate an
electric turntable, amplifier & loudspeaker).

I will look forward to hearing from you. My email address is "themclays <AT> eircom.net" if anyone has the time!

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim:

Here's an illustration of an Aeolian Vocalion motor in the AV owner's manual on this page -- http://www.nipperhead.com/old/aeolian.htm Just click on the thumbnail images to make the pages full size.

You'd probably get a lot more responses at the Talking Machine Forum -- http://forum.talkingmachine.info/ -- which is where most of the antique phonophiles hang out.
