Hi folks,
I purchased a NSM Prestige II jukebox when I still lived in South Florida. It worked perfectly and had no issues until I moved.
The movers I hired assured me that they knew all about Jukeboxes, and how to move them safely. I was going to remove the carriage inside myself, but they assured me that they do this all the time. Well, I call BS. They left the carriage in the machine and moved it just like that, without even securing it in place or anything.
So now that I live in North GA, the jukebox no longer works properly. It seems that there is either a) an issue with the power supply, or b) an issue with the motor that spins the record. When I turn it on, and pick a record to play, the carriage moves along and finds the correct record. It then pulls it in and begins playback. Sometime during playback (either immediately or after a little bit) the record slows almost to a complete stop. Sometimes it stops completely. And then, a few seconds later, it speeds back up and plays normally. This sometime happens 1-3 times in single song, and sometimes doesnt happen for 1-3 songs. When it does happen, the slow-down can happen any time from 5 to 20 seconds.
There's only one jukebox repair shop in my area, and they want to charge me more than i paid for this jukebox to repair it. It is truly one of my prized possessions, and would love to be able to fix it myself. I have all the manuals and everything.
Thanks to any help anyone can give.
