another Rock-Ola 444 question - popularity meter

gents, another Q if I may about my 444. It has a popularity meter, and i can see the little prong thing poking the meter (oh er!) but the prongs never seem to stick out any further. I suspect it isn't pressing hard enough.

any tips?

The pop meter won't have any effect on the jukebox function . They were just purely used to determine which records were more popular than others
