Stepper Unit Question

I am starting to restore my Seeburg AQ160 by re-capping the TSU. I don't plan to use a remote box at any point. What if anything should I do with the stepper unit?

Just leave the 2050 stepper tube out of it--and pull the 3.2 fuse out too.
