Roackola 1493 selection problem

Just an update on this problem, got my can of Deoxit and used it on the keyboard switches and wobble plate slip rings, same as before i can consistently select from A3 onwards. A1 to K1 and A2 to K2 are still not working properly, the write in arm will stop at the correct location and i can see the pin being hammered down but it not staying down or not being hammered down the full way. On occasions A1 to K1 and A2 to K2 will select when a b side is selected first on that slip ring segment.
It may be that some of the pins are a bit sticky/stiff and i might change the wobble plate and see what difference that makes

Hi Clones,
If only one hammer fails to fully push the pins, I would assume that the problem is either a poor contact, or a problem within that coil/plunger system. You can check the contacts, starting at the "AB Switch" with a good Analog meter (NOT "Digital"), thru to the coil itself. Contacts on the switch must be free of "pits", clean, burnished (with the roper tool), and touch with enough force to conduct current. Same goes forthe slip-ring contact.
On the "wrong selection" problem--unless you used "residue free" Deoxit, I am afraid you may have worsened the problem. I would remove the key board, remove the solenoid from it, and wash the keyboard with ammonia and HOT water. Dry totally before re-assembly---
The pin bank may also need washing--but I would do this last after checking the hammer coil--

the wrong selection problem seems to have gone since i used deoxit, its now just the pins from A1 to K1 and A2 to K2 that are not being hammered down fully on approx 80 % of attempts

Just an update on this problem, which i sorted out last week, keyboard was washed and cleaned with ammonia and water, the main culprit causing the non selection of lower numbers would appear to have been the wobble plate solenoid also, i changed it and it worked perfectly so it was probably a combination of cleaning and the replacement of the wobble plate solenoid. Thanks everyone for your help, the jukebox has since passed on to someone else, thanks to forum member Juker for his offer for spare parts.
On another note(this is not an advertisement) there is an house auction which includes 11 jukeboxes from the 40's and 50's in Co. Kildare, Ireland. They are mostly 78rpm machines but look fairly rare, might interest members in Ireland and the UK.
