Hi im new here

Hello everyone

I have just joined these forums and thought i would say a quick hello and introduce myself.
My name is Daniel , im 34 and live in Australia.I have 2 player piano's in my collection but love all types of old instruments that make music.My 2 players are a Weber Duo-art upright 1920 model , and i also have a 1914 Richard Lipp and sons Player Grand.

I also have a you-tube page if anyone is interested , and im looking forward to reading though these forums and meeting other collectors on here as well.

Welcome to the board Daniel. Your interest in Organs will certainly add a new perspective to this board. The main focus here is on devices that play music for you, although I am sure there are many others (not all thumbs like me) on this board who can play music on various instruments. I have many organ music records in my collection. A large amount of them by Jessee Crawford who recorded for Victor for many years. Keep active here and check in often.

Hi Daniel & welcome! Good to see another aussie in the forum. I'm mainly a record & gramophone/phonograph freak, but also have a push-up piano player (I saw your responce to my thread on it thanks!)and my grandfathers Beale Hapsberg, but I find player piano's very interesting also. If it weren't for lack of space, I'd probably have a couple myself. I've got about 35 machines, and over 8000 records, so it's pretty crowded here as you can imagine
I checked out your youtube page- you've got some nice instruments there. I'll have to watch your vid's when I get a chance.
I've also been loading up some tunes on different machines over the last couple weeks if you wanna check it out too.

Sentjourn:In regards to machines making music for you , my Weber upright is electric and does it all for me.It still has its oringle 1920 steamboat pump that opens and closes the bellows.Also been a Duo-art model , it plays with full expression and sound as if a human pianist was sitting there in front of it.One of the features it has that alot of people dont know about is , I can set it to replay and it will play the roll , stop , rewind and then start again.Its great when you have a long play roll (up to 8 songs) and have guest over for dinner/drinks and just leave the player going in the background

Shane:When i answered your post i didnt even realiase that you were an Aussie! , its not till i looked latter and saw where you were from.Your push up is a beautiful piece and its something i hope i can track down latter myself to do one up.I do know of one in NZ that is in parts but the freight to get it over here is too high for me.I have added your you-tube page and over the weekend i look forward to watching your videos.

Where abouts are you? I'm guessing Melbourne? The reason I ask is, I might know someone up here that could still have a push-up that he might pass on. When I bought mine (I think it was about $200??) he had another one exactly the same as mine, plus a different model. I can pass on his email addy if your interested. It took me years to track one down. I still haven't picked up any rolls either I've only seen 6 of them come up on ebay, but was away when the auction finished, and missed out on them

BTW: I love your Audiographic roll! I never knew they made such visually beautiful rolls. It sound fab too!!
