Hi All,

Im new here and pretty new to jukes. I started over this past summer with a seeburg trashcan and needless to say im hooked. Ive done work on a few mechines but my most recent juke has me stumped. Its an original 1015. heres the issue: right now the mech moves between two points in the jukes cycle. it starts with a tray stuck half out (when i say starts i mean as far backwards as i can hand spin the drive shaft.) then i plug in the motor and it pushes the record the rest of the way out. the turn table comes up, spins. goes back down, record goes back in and then the selection cam goes up to the top of the record stack and everything stops again! Im afraid it may have taken a few teeth on my gear the last time this happened. Im lost as to what might be causing the stop. any tips would be awesome thanks everyone!

Have you gone over the Service Manual yet to determine the problem?
Usually the flow chart provided helps understand operation.

Hi Joe,
I don't get into these much, as I have a friend that specializes in them--
It is strictly a mechanical problem, caused by lack of use, or "dirt", or lack of/improper oil.
Usually when this occurs, I find the "monkey" has "jumped the stick" (that's what the "old timers" told me, way back when!). In plain English, the "finger" that moves the selected tray into play position has jumped to the center of the tray take-out assembly.
As Matt correctly stated above, read the Service Manual--it shows how this should work--
AND, yes, you are correct--you CAN strip gears, and also "bend" other things this way !

Ron and Matt. Thanks for your responses. I do indeed have the service manual and have looked it over to better understand the sequence. I'm going to spend some time tonight looking over what Ron and mentioned and see where I stand. Is their a cam or switch that occurs in the middle of a record coming out of the stack before being played? before the turntable cam. Thanks again! -Joe

Joe,
After the "pin is pulled" ( selection made) ALL other "movement" is done via the main cam.
