Seeburg 160

by Bubba » Sat Oct 28, 2006 1:26 pm

I just picked up this juke last night and I am trying to find out some info on it. Its a Seeburg Q160 I thought, but I can't find a pic with this glass panel. I haven't had a chance to look into this very much yet, but can anyone tell me if this is the orignal glass, and why is it different than other Q's I've seen. The glass mentions 33 1/3, but the guy had it full of 45's....

It currently has a problem with the Tormat, but it is also missing some tubes. I'll deal with making it work after I find out some more info on this....

Hi Bubba,

I think the glass may well be an orginal one, (top glass showing 33 1/3)
The jukebox was made in 1960 with a production run of 8700, it was available as a Q100 (100 selections) and the Q160 (160 selections).
There was a option of the 33/45 title board presentation.

The early Seeburg jukeboxes played 33 records and the 45 records when played were played using a switch that speeded the turntable up to 45 rpm
(a autospeed unit was fitted into the jukbox).

If the record was undinked it played at 33 and if it was dinked it would play at 45rpm.

Some of these jukeboxes may have been modified not the work as above.
