sps160 skipping selections when 3rd digit is 5

by hobbypin » Fri Jan 09, 2015 10:07 pm

Picked up an sps160 that didn't work. Purchased trouble shooting guide and Black & Gray box book. Reviewed service manual and have been able to bring this machine back to the living. Although it is still not 100% it is getting closer. I have not found reference to this particular issue.

It is skipping all selections where the third digit is a 5. It will scan but not select, scans twice and goes back to home position. If 5 is the 2nd digit and not the 3rd it works fine, only when it is the third does it skip the selection. Example: 105, 205, 115, 215... get skipped.

Power supply & Amp have been recapped. connectors and contacts cleaned and adjust where needed. selects and plays all other selections as it should.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

This is my first Jukebox (yes, another newbie). I have a background in electronics and have been fixing pinball machines as a hobby for years.

Thanks,
Art

Hi Art,
I am 99.9 % sure that would be the "pin" ( connector) on the larger Molex plug at the DRD. Do you have my "Seeburg MicroLog Trouble Shooting Guide" or the small two page one, Seeburg printed ? If you have mine, see service notes on "plugs".
