Seeburg USC2 problem

by doccherry » Tue Jun 25, 2013 6:44 pm

I have a Seeburg USC2 and every time I press a selection that has a zero in it, the reset button lights up and I can't complete the selection. All selections work fine except those with zero. Push the zero button and it resets. Any ideas?

I'm brand new on the forum and live in Kona, Hawaii. Mahalo for any help.

Hi and welcome,
What happens if you attempt to play selection # 166?
( If you had a copy of my "Seeburg Microlog Trouble Shooting Guide", you could "pin this down" in a few seconds--PM me if you wish to purchase one) Ron Rich

Ron:

166 works fine. If I push the zero, the RESET light comes on and I'm finished. Any ideas? If not, I'll PM you and buy your guide. Thanks.

If your DECis equipped with album/single switches attached, check the "10" switch, to be sure it is in the single position and making contact--are you using coins, or is the price programmer removed from the DTP-1 ? What happens if you attempt to play 160 ? Ron Rich

The coin mechanism has been removed. With 160, the moment I press the zero, the RESET comes on.

OK--if it does the same thing when you try 106, the keyboard is dirty, or the zero key switch is broken--.

Ron:

Thanks for the info. I removed the selector box, cleaned off the circuits, jiggled the zero selector button and put it all back together. Works great!! Thanks again from the Big Island of Hawaii.

Glad it worked--not what I would suggest be done, however.
