Help with a Grand Prix 160 Juke box

We recently had a Grand Prix 160 Juke box donated to us and we are trying to get it up and running. It plays 45 rpm's. We have checked fuses and all appear to be working. The lights come on, The wheel turns to select records , but will not pick up and transfer to player. There is no sound when we put a record on the player with needle in place.
Any ideas of where we should check 1st or how much expense may be involved in restoring it.
