LPC 1 selects but won't play

FWIW: Down in the coin-op district on tenth ave (AKA: Gepetto Land) they had half gallon cans of Lubriplate which were mixed with some weight of motor oil. There was no formula (surprised-?). The process was just to add the oil while using a paint stirrer on a drill until the color was light brown.
Either a lube gun or simply a small stick was used to apply it to gears and sliding surfaces. It was too viscous for a zoomspout type oilier.

I used on machines I restored for revenue service or home sale.

At home I used white lithium grease or just a drop of 20-30wt oil.

Chad, the LPC series were the last to use tubes anywhere in the selection system and thus a lot different from subsequent models.

They are over fifty years of age and both amp and selection unit -must- be properly overhauled for safe, reliable operation. Capacitor replacement is a must. If you are only doing a limited number of machines I suggest a model-specific cap-kit from one of the listed suppliers.

I never said I used SuperLube in bearings - just for gears and sliding mechanisms.

OK then -- gotta oil it ( every 6 months, as per chart) so why not also stick a drop of oil on the gears and re-rejuvenate the graphite grease, at the same time ( one need not do it that often--only when grease appears "dry"--)?? Ron Rich

Indeed, oiling sintered bearings of motors on occasion is always a good thing.
30 wt nd for most motors, zoom spout turbine oil for smaller motors - yup.
But if gears, sliding tracks and mechs are SuperLubed, they'll never need attention.
Makes the maintanence procedure take less time.

In home use-probably OK--but in commercial machines, operating at least 5 hours per day ( remember these are designed to go 24/7/366 !)--I still would not do it.

Ron, I see no reason not to use this synthetic lubricant on any commercial machine.
Jukebox, or shop machines, etc.
You're obviously not familier with SuperLube, or its qualities, and that's ok...that's fine..
But I can attest to the durability and performance of SuperLube, having used it for the past 25 years on lots of machines, both consumer, AND commercial, as well as automotive.
Yeah, it handles up to 450 degrees with ease, and doesn't break down.
And it ROCKS!

I would like to thank Ron and others for commenting on my post and educating me along the way. I have a much better understanding of the workings of the jukebox. I was able to get my 1963 Seeburg LPC-1 working.
It turned out my initial "hunch" was correct. I had a faulty cap in the auto speed. It was the 4uf oil filled cap.
