HF100R contact block wiring

My Seeburg stopped working as it should so I began to diagnose using service manual. Found the safety plunger was all gummed up. Unfortunately, when I removed the mechanism from the body, the pictures I took of the wiring to the contact block (those 5 wires) did not show what I needed when it was time to reconnect. In addition, the pinbank pins were moved from their normal position.

2 questions here... Can anyone help out with the wiring for the contact block?

What positions should the pins be in when the mechanism is reinstalled, or, does it even matter.

The service manual shows them--even lists colors-tho, I doubt that you can tell colors today--if not, just trace/ring out the wires from end to end.
( My question to you is : Why would you ever remove the carriage, and solenoid unit, to clean a safety plunger?)
Makes no difference where pins are--"out" is selected--in, non selected. Ron Rich

I did not remove the carriage, only the record rack/pinbank. Unfortunately i also disconnected the wires to the contact block. Looks as though these wires are only brown or black. Three wires go to one switch and two on the other. I was hoping someone may have a diagram or photo of what wire goes where.

OK--same answer --shows it in service manual--colors and all, but as I suspected, you can no longer distinguish the colors--so you will need to trace wires with a meter--( or by hand--difficult to do, here)
New question--why did you remove the record rack ?

I removed the rack to access the rear of the mechanism. So much stuff was gummed up I needed the rack out of my way. While I was there I pulled the clutch and inspected the gears. Good thing, because it was all varnished up.

So, if I have to tone the wires out, what connection points come from the contact block? The manual I have, from victory, does not give me that information.

See page 2280, of the Service Manual, or page 56 of my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide"( which does not show colors, as It is for an earlier model mech.--but no mater, as by now all look the same).
P.S. I never remove the record rack to remove the clutch, or to clean anything on the mech. MUCH too much work for this lazy guy !!! :lol: Ron Rich

Ok....humor me. How do you get to the rear of the mech without removing the rack? You just run the carriage off the guides?

It's easy--but you gotta purchase (steal ?) and read my book, for that info--that's why I wrote it !! :roll:
Hint, on "SA Unit" models, you do need to remove the SA Unit---
Did you find the page in the Service Manual--if not-SCREEM at VG for omitting it !!!

Ok... Got all the wires traced and connected. Mechanism runs fine in scan, but will not move when placed in run mode. Accepts money fine, correct number of selections, buttons make selection, but mechanism does not move.

It has to be something simple.... Please advise Obe One... :P

I strongly suggest that my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide", would be of great help here, for you to understand what's happening--I also urge you to purchase an electronic "Freeplay (/ coin play) adapter", if not already so equipped (PM me if you wish to - I sell both).
Meanwhile, look at the selected pin--did it switch from the non-selected position to the selected position ? If so, use your hand and switch a few others. If the service switch is in the "operate" position ( all the way to the right), and the motor does not run, check the single wire connecting the ES to the SA Unit. If that's OK, the service switch is suspect. If the motor does operate with the pins "pulled", the selection system needs to be examined. Ron Rich
