Hi I just picked up a Magnavox astrosonic model 1st684 really good shape.. how do you adjust the turntable as in pressure and also when I start it it will go halfway out and shut itself off ? but other than that it works fine there is some skipping from time to time ..this couldnt be normal ..does any of this sound familiar ..Thanks

The record must be placed up on the spindle for the changer to play it automatically. The arm actually touches the unplayed stack up on the spindle to get the record size. If it doesn't find a record up there, it shuts off.
