Rockola Motor Grommet Question

I have new grommets on my turntable motor, but noticed there aren't any brass spacers underneath.....Are they always required? My motor seems to sit OK, and hangs off the cir clips above the grommets.

Do they do much if anything?

There's no brass spacers under mine, either.

Guy's,
RockOla used two different motor mounting systems--those with the e-clips (cir-clips, for you guys what can't speak English  )
do not use spacers--those with screws do NEED them--- Same (white, only, IMHO) grommets are used in both systems. Ron Rich

Ron, we call 'em by their proper name, circlips.

Jesus!

Is that what you say when they spring off the post and you lose them?

Interesting conversation. My wife's Rock ola 1454 has the screw system. Two of the grommets were totally missing and you know who had used metal washers in lieu of grommets. The third one disinegrated when I touched it. I replaced the grommets, however I do not have any of the "white spacers". Are these available from the usual vendors?

Best
Darrell

Hi Darrell,
The grommets are white (or should be, IMHO) -- the "spacers" are brass (same as used on Seeburg "latch bar solenoids")--usually dirty, but, unless old grommet is stuck to it-- no need to clean them, as they only serve to allow the screw to be tightened down enough to hold the grommet, but not enough to crush it.
