Seeburg M100 Speaker Swaps

by James_Douglas » Tue Oct 15, 2013 3:22 am

Can anyone tell me what Models of the Seeburg M100 series one can swap speakers on? I want to get another speaker for bench testing. There is a "G" on ebay right now and I want to know if I can use it on an "A".

Thanks, James

FWIW: I would not bother with another junk speaker. If its been loose there is a good chance it is damaged.

When I dealt with these old amps using a field coil I temporarily jumped pins 5&6 to power it then used a 20watt resistor of approx 6-7k-ohm to dummy for the field and a good KLH 8 ohm bookshelf speaker for test.

I suggest that the resistor be at least partially enclosed or located above reach as it has full B+ and is potentially lethal.

I connected with gator clips, but if you are not familiar with hot chassis precautions I suggest temporarily soldering them instead.
