Rockola 460 Question

by Lopers27 » Fri Nov 21, 2008 3:09 am

Hello, I am new to the board, but have been browsing trying to see if I could find my answer without posting. But, here I am!

I have a Rockola 460. It had been in good working order but I have not used it in about 1 year while I refinished my basement.

Now that the basement is done I have fired it back up and it works, but the selections are very, very slow. In fact, sometimes I have to open the lid and "help" the selector around. It seems like it just needs some sort of lubricant or maybe an adjustment of some sort.

If I help it along, with the push of a finger, it usually gets moving and will make the selection.

Any ideas?

Thanks in Advance.

IMHO, I think that you are probably 99.999% right in thinking that it's a lubrication problem, and about 99.9999% wrong on an "Adjustment". However, it's impossible for me to guess as to what you are "helping". If you have any paper work, such as a service manual, it would help if you would describe exactly what it is that your are "helping", and how, as I'm about 99.999% sure someone (maybe, even I,) can "help you"--- My very first suggestion is that you check the fuse values--be sure that it's not "overfused", because "running slow" can cause excessive current demands, which can lead to burned out components--and even the chance of a fire! If that unit uses circuit breakers, check to make sure "someone" has NOT jumpered them.

Ron,

Thanks for the response. I have a service manual, just have to dig it out of storage, once I do, I will post exactly what it is I am "helping" around!

I do know that what I am helping has the wipers on it. As far as a description, for lack of a better term the shape on each end of this "arm" is similar to that of a brake pad. I know that more than likely didn't help much!

Like I said, I will get the official names and let you know.

If anyone else has suggestions, or knows what I am talking about from my wacky description, let me know!
