Help on ident. Magnavox Micromatic.

by cheramie74 » Sun May 31, 2009 10:52 pm

Hey y'all,

My grandma gave me a Magnavox Console and I am having trouble identifying it. I think the model number n the turntable is w75001bc. Not really sure because it has a smudge between the 0 and 0, and again between the o and the 1. Also it would help to find a repair manual since I can't get the turn table to work. Grandma said it is about 40 yrs-45 yrs old. Turntable was made in England

Thanks
chris

ps tried to add a picture but it is too big. So any advice on uploading would greatly be appreciated

I thought I'd found it from the link I posted previously, but the controls were different. I guess they used the same cabinet for a few different models

Just talked to my mom, and said my Grandparents lost everything in Hurricane Betsy, and Camille. So it would probably be a early 1970's model.
I think that one is to old.

I have an early circa 1973-74 console that has the exact same turntable, 8-track and receiver. Those turntables can be removed from the top by turning those two levers 90 degrees. I wish the older ones were like that instead of taking a gazillion screws off the back. The turntable appears to be a W716 or similar.

Mine has a sticker that says W700/W800 series and another sticker that says W750/01/EE. Mine also has a removable spindle to use a short one for those who do not like to stack records and also has the cue lever. --BB

Thanks, I think I remember those numbers on the bottom. Do you know where I can get a owners manual and repair manual? I can't seem to get the turntable to come on.
