by 6077Dave » Tue Mar 31, 2015 4:15 pm

I have a broken guide tip on the Wurlitzer, have a manuel but could on find adjustments. I could take it apart but thought there may be a easier way. Thanks. Dave

Hi Dave,
Yea--it would be--
OK here is how I do it--
Remove a record-- play the right side of the removed record--allow the arm to enter the carrousel, and turn off power ! Using set of Vise Grips first, pull down on the lift arm to give yourself maximum room up top above the record separators, and use the vise grip under the mech shelf to position the arm. Use a cloth towel for all of the little parts to "fall on"-- (Hint: Use a small amount of sewing thread, thru the spring, so It can't "fly away"--)
Good luck !

Ron, Thanks for the good info. on changing the guide tip on the 2150, it worked great. Now I.m trying to repair the cause of the tip breaking. The arm didn't lower enough and broke the tip by hitting the record carrier. Tried adjusting the link & lever assy. per manuel but arm still not lowering enough, Any ideas on this Ron. Thanks again, Dave

Hi Dave,
Glad that worked for you--I have run into that problem in the past--but I am drawing a blank, as to the cause, at the moment.
I guess I would need to see what's happening (are both tips hitting--is only one side hitting--are both arms going down evenly ?), to determine the cause. Hopefully, one of the other guys here will chime in,or you might try the "WurliTzer list"-- Please post it here when you find out what it is. Ron Rich
