Newbie here!
Recently purchased Rowe AMI CD 100 for Holiday Gift. All works fine except 3 cd display spinner. Opened the case for access, spun the sprocket thingies to make sure they were not frozen ...closed the box back up, and they spun...turned the machine off overnight and next power up, they are not spinning again...bad motor?
Thanks for any help...
Stan

Those motors go bad all the time. You need a new motor.

Stan, Ken,
Those motors "go bad all the time", if not oiled ! I kept some of mine running for ten or more years, by adding one or two drops of 20 wt. ND oil to the shaft/bearing joint every six months or so--If not oiled, the shaft tends to "dig-out" the bearing--- Ron Rich

Hi Stan,
Welcome to the forum.
As everyone says these are always failing, so much that some operators do not replace them because of the cost.
My thoughts when we used to operate was a clean fully working jukebox always took better money.

Hi Alan,
I agree--I used to remove that display any time one of the 73 lamps burned out ( about every six months --so it seemed), clean/oil, the display, replace ALL # 73's, and any of the "plastic covers" that burned up, cut my hands on the display, returning it to the cabinet, without getting my blood over "everything"--but I rarely got requests for a "new jukebox" that way !

Thank to all for responses...
If one was interested in purchasing one of these motors, where would one search? I tried
www.jukeboxparts.com with no luck.
Thanks
Stan

Stan,
As far as I know, your "local" Rowe distributor, either will have them in stock, or can still get them.
( don't know who your distrib is--but one of the largest is:
www.betson.com )

Brady Distributing in Charlotte, North Carolina would be his local Rowe-Ami (now called AMI Entertainment) distributor.
