seeburg console

by luciano » Mon Nov 11, 2013 7:38 pm

hello! I ventured in the repair of a seeburg "console" after arranging a successful "golden jet" hoping not to find fault very different from last time. Of course it was not so, in fact I have gotten problems diversi.Infatti well placed after the part of the movement disc now I have problems with the scanning of the wagon. This happens: if the scanning part in a sense it's okay if has to start in the opposite direction does not igrana in the clutch pin on the gear at the bottom of the motor shaft. This happens if you instead sends slightly behind and return later.
I hope I explained well and be able to make me understand why I use a translator (google it) and I know nothing about inglese.Saluto all participants in the forum and look forward to a council to continue my adventure "seeburg"
hello!

Saluto, Luciano,
The "translator" did a fair job--I am not 100% sure of what you wrote, but I think I can guess.
The LPC is different in operation, from the jet. It should only detent (stop for selections) when going (scanning) from left to right. If it is stopping when going from right to left, it will play the selection then "stall" as the clutch member is prevented, by design, from going into the scan mode. The cause of this problem is a failed 4700/1/2 watt resistor on, or very near, the reversing switch.
If by chance, the mechanism carriage is going in the correct direction when this happens, most likely, the reversing RELAY mechanical hold, is not being released.
Do you have a Manual Servisio? If not, I know an Italian version was printed--don't know if it's still available, but you might check with suppliers listed above in Europe--Ron Rich

Luciano,
That's a mechanism only, "book"-not a "Service Manual"--if it has a schematic in it, wire the mechanism per the schematic.
It may be there, but I can't see the resistor in that photo ?

ok! thank you! Now reassemble the tree and everything else because I have the mechanism on the table and I'm trying only with the command and control center connected manualeDomani I install it in the cabinet and see what other problems escono.Nella the "mechanism" I miss one of the two long springs and hol'elicoidale pickup arm on the motor shaft a little spoiled: are on the market?
I attach the schema to know if it is right to find the resistor you were saying.
Greetings!

Luciano,
Yes, you should be able to find the spring, and the motor coupler, in Europe. Look above in "announcements" for a list of honest parts sellers--
That resistor is # R-658, on that parts list/schematic.

hello! today I reassembled everything as Enel do good things have happened this type: in the bottom of the cabinet where ventilation is grateful I found sticking to the spring of the pickup!! then it seems to me that the movement of the mechanism is good, makes his two trips and stops at C3. Did this and found that the keyboard does not store I did the test with 1.5 on both the battery cables tormat and I saw with surprise that reads all of your selections from left to destra.Ora I do not know if he has done all that is that now it's back to the two trips and then stop.
At first he stopped each disk and making it come back with the back button regularly went on the next payout then after a 5/6 to the release of the disc the engine does not go off again but it was a movement-that I had to constantly come off to bring it to normal. Please what should I check for selection?

thank you!

Hi Luciano,
Not sure if comprendo what you wrote--
This model should pick-up records when scanning only from left to right--
I think you said it only picked 5-6, when you used the battery ? IF, you used a GOOD, "D cell", on both Tormat plugs, it should start at "A-1", select the left side, play it, then select the right side of that record.
It should do this for EVERY record space, all the way to the end space (U/V-8).
If it will not do the above, you have problems in the read-out circuits. They can be electrical, and/or, mechanical. ( Read your Manual)
