Folks,

I just picked up a nice little VV-210 for, if you'll pardon the pun, a song. I've started the clean up and repairs and it seems I have a hybrid machine. The motorboard, backboard/dash and horn louvers are a different finish than the rest of the machine. The cabinet is a brown mahogany, I don't think it's walnut, but the motorboard &c. are a much redder mahogany. The two forward screw holes in the backboard don't line up with the screw holes in the metal runner which supports it and the motorboard. The crank hole is unmolested, but I did get a bag of extra screws hinges and knobs....

If anyone has a 210 and a digital camera could you post a picture or two of the motorboard and give me an idea of the shade of mahogany your machine is. Thanks.

According to the information on Paul Edie's site, walnut became available in 1925, so if your serial number is above 173500, it could be walnut.

The photos aren't the greatest, unfortunately, but they do show the horn and part of the motor board.

Thank you, those photos help. I still can't figure out how the dratted record rack was screwed in. There doesn't seem to be any holes. The plate is numbered 36171, but it's on the red motorboard so I don't know if that's the number of the machine the motorboard came from or the cabinet?
I'll post a photo or two within the next day or so. Clean-up is coming along nicely.
