Rockola picking up Wrong record

by edisonsclone » Sun Mar 29, 2009 7:10 am

Rockola 443....selections with the #1 (A1 C1 E1) are not picking up the correct record, It picks up the record just after the one selected...So..if A1 is selected, B1 is picked up, however, all other selections select the correct record except for the ones ending with #1????
What Do I Do????

Your wording is confusing--is it picking the wrong "record" or the wrong "side" of the record ? Isn't that phono numbered "A-1/ B-1" for the same record? Are you going by the "title strip" ? If so, is the record in the slot "backwards" ? If you press the "A-1" SELECTION on the keyboard, does it "pull" the "A-1 pin", or the "B-1 pin" ? Ron Rich

o your right im sorry.....When A1 is selected C1 is picked up, and recently... I have also seen it do the opposite ...C1 is selected and A1 is picked up? But it only has this problem with selections with #1(A1-J1).....Sorry for the confusion

I will try to explain this the best I can to avoid confusion....My rockola 443 is picking up the wrong record only when a selection is made from A1-K1..all other selections work fine. This will happen on both the A and B Side. What happens is that when a selection is made...Lets say C1, it will pick up either the record before or after it(so it ends up picking up A1 or E1)....same goes with the B side..If D1 is selected ...B1 or F1 is picked up. This seems to happen on and off , sometimes it will pick up the correct record, but majority of the time it will not , and again ..it is only happening in the selections from A1-K1.

Are you sure that it is "picking up wrong"--or is it "pulling the wrong pin" ?--Make a selection using the keyboard, and observe which pin it's "pulling". Do this with BOTH " write in arms". Then, using the record "SLOT", and the silk-screened indicator on the selection drum, as the reference, observe which record is being placed onto the turntable-- Ron Rich
