Xtreemly rare speakers

by Ron Rich » Mon May 20, 2013 11:13 pm

Hi All,
It's too hot here to work now, so just for the "heck of it" I looked at ePay---
There is some joker attempting to sell "Extremely Rare Seeburg speakers--"
The kind they must have made at least 100k of--and I consider "junk". These are the ones made to "work with" the first stereo, made of black molded plastic. This joker wants $100 ea for them--but he'll give you a discount, and make the pair ( which ain't really a "pair"--two "1st. channel" logo's) only $399.00
Anyone know what the list price way back in 1958/9 was ?? Off the top of my pointy head, I can't see it being more then $49.00 per pair ??

Someone on another site answered that they were $24.49 a pair in '63--but someone else checked on $50.00 in 1958, and found it to be $400.00 in today's money---I usually look at ePay when I'm feeling like I need a laugh--some of the "descriptions" just crack me up-- Ron Rich

To all those "E-Prayer's" out there hoping to sell their junk...

Enough of the goofy lame descriptions, they're as weak as watered down hooch.

"Untested" - (yeah right, I plugged it in and it blew up, maybe I can still get some sucker interested in it)

"Probably an easy fix" - (how would you know? - all you want is the sucker's money so you can buy some Ramen Noodles for your dorm)

"Rare" - (yeah, you never saw one, till you raided that housing project dumpster)

And the real good ones - who go ON and ON about something so TRIVIAL...
I've read better bedtime stories that put me to sleep.

My favorites are the "lights up but doesn't play - just needs a tube...."
