new guy

I'm new here and have been into vintage electronics for three years.I bought this radio on Ebay and was wondering if someone out there could tell me the year it was made or anything about it really.

Does it have an FM tuner?
(Unlikely)

Are there tubes in it?

What kind of antenna?

Hi dixieland9,

The Radio was made after 1955 when the Motorola company logo changed.

1955: Stylized "M" Motorola Logo
In June 1955 Motorola introduced a new brand logo, the stylized "M" insignia, or "emsignia." A company leader said the two aspiring triangle peaks arching into an abstracted "M" typified the progressive leadership-minded outlook of the company.

By 1960 their Radio/Alarm clocks had a more retro look so I think yours must be around 1955/56.

Well as my Grandmother would say, "We haven't heard hi, by or turkey from dixieland9." The radio looks in good shape. So if it has a back the model number most certainly is there and probably the manufactured date. So enough data discovered there that dixieland9 has pushed on? Not sharing and leaving us in suspense. But inquiring minds want to know. You may have answered your own posting but please inform us of the data if available on the back (or bottom). That way if it comes up again a search will reveal the info and another person helped. Most likely the set is of the C11 series, chassis HS-814. It dates to 1960/61.

Maybe the alarm doesn't work so good and he's overslept,
for a few days. . .

Dixieland9 here, sorry I've kept everybody in suspense but I've been busy, here's some answers:It is a tube radio,am only no antenna, the model number is not on the back,it looks like there may have been a sticker on the underside that had all the manufacture info but that sticker is long gone.

The Conelrad dial markings also place it between 1953 and 1963, when these markings were required.
