AMI B stopped rejecting

I was playing some 78's on my B and all of a sudden after a few records the tonearm hit the lead out groove and it sounded like the needle was stuck. I tried the reject button and nothing happened. Any suggestions? It's a fairly simple mech so I'm thinking it can't be major.

I ordered a replacement 8/10 fusetron. My concern is what made it "blow" in the first place. Can it be age?

if the replacment fuse blows right away you have a short somewhere. Examine your wiring to see if you can find anyplaces on it where the insulation has become brittle and is cracking up.

I'll check it out when the part arrives. The B was supposedly "restored" by Freddy Bailey when I bought it about 10 years ago.

My GUESS would be it "blew" due to lack of lubrication, and that a new one will do the same--Ron Rich

Hey Ron - I'll try lubricating the moving parts with non-detergent oil (blue can) before I replace the fusetron.
Can't hurt.
