Rockola Speakers

by ds100h » Thu May 29, 2014 6:16 pm

Hi All

I have a Rockola 425 (Grand Prix) that is missing the top speakers. I have located what looks to me like the identical speakers that Bill is selling on eBay that are from a model 448 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 1182021848). Just want to make sure these will interchage and fit into the 425 without problems. Appreciate your insight on this.

Darrell,
Best to go by part number(s?)---or axk Bill (Butterfield--I assume?), as he knows speakers well !

Ron

Thanks. Yes Bill Butterfield and he did not seem to know if they are interchangeable. Bill said he does have some 425 speakers in the attic, but, I hate to make him dig those out if these will work. The measurements, shape are the same and they are both 16 OHMS, so I cannot think of any idea why they would not be interchangeable.?

Darrell,

I know the part numbers are different (425 speaker is 40209), but that could simply mean the same specs but a different supplier. Even Google couldn't find any information about that particular speaker, but I would think that if it's the same size and the same ohms you should be good.

My 440 uses the 5x7 16 ohm also, but the mounting is different. The tabs are one at each end rather than the more common "X" configuration. A quick look at your panel would tell you what kind of mounting you need.

Good Luck!
Nelson

Ron

As you know I value your instructions, so, I related to Bill what you had to say. He had plans to buy you lunch, I am not so sure that is going to happen with this new information!
