Hi, I'm new here and very happy to have found this site! I would like to learn more about my new toy. I have been able to find no information what-so-ever about it. I would like to know when it was made and if it has any kind of value. I have an original service manual for models sk28-sk31, with a picture of one like mine (sk29), but there is no date of any kind printed anywhere. Any info would be greatly appreciated. It sounds fantastic, and I would like to keep it that way, so it's nice to know there is a place I can visit with other vinyl lovers.

I located SAMS data on your SK29. It should sound good considering it has a 7-tube amplifier, output tubes being EL84/6BQ5, four at that. Includes a tube preamp. I personally don't like the leg style consoles and swing-out speakers but to each his own. I don't know about the record changer other than it's supposed to be a VM29RC. Your set dates to 1959/60. This date and few years up and back a person could get a set, some not so great as far as the cabinets, with these good amplifiers. Lots of brands during that time had good amplifiers in their sets. Somewhat overlooked today. And now...your set probably will need a recap, got to protect them tubes and transformer. Value? Tough call but experience tells me you would most likely get more by selling the parts. I would value the preamp/amplifier in the $50-60 range on ebay.
