Hello I am here to annoy everyone again. Problem, Jukebox powers up ,selects fine for 10 songs or so. Then , A,B,C,D 1 3 5. over travel slightly to play the opposite side record on carousel, I cannot understand in the manual if I should `plus or minus` adjustment. It seems only happens in this group of songs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ,Mark.

Hi "annoying" Mark,
If you are 200 % sure that the "Back-stops" are clean, and dry, I would tell you to re-adjust the ONE that's slipping, just a very, very, small amount in one direction--if that won't fix it, try the other direction--a small amount only. If they still are "painted in place", I suggest you not attempt to adjust it at all--but re-clean it. In rare cases, I have seen the pin the stop rides, on become loose, thus "an ever-changing adjustment". Good luck--Ron Rich

Mark, we need to check basics on this problem:

1) Does the correct pin get punched -every time?
2) Is the pin memory correctly alined.
3) is the carousel over traveling or under-traveling. The 100-104 are quite forgiving due to the wider spacing. However, care must be given to the mechanical stop screw to so that the carousel is not allowed to coast far enough to that it backstops into a later tooth & slot.
4) Is the reversing plunger dropping instantly when the crank hits a pin (or your finger)? Are the reversing microswitches and their linkage freely shifting?

Since the problem manifests itself after a period of operation, the possibility of warmup of old, gummy oil emerges. this would mostly affect the plunger and microswitch linkages as well as backstop pawls.

FWIW: When i restored these carousel mechs I removed the pawls during the washing. I then built-up the adjustments based on the centering of the lift arms in the rollers. It requires a light hand to position the backstop pawls correctly. But I found that I could position them at the right angle that the carousel rotates with hardly any ticking noise and the 100-104 lift cups would not touch the insides of the slots on the carousel.

Thank you both. Carousel was over traveling just a touch. I adjusted back stop screw clockwise a touch and all good Why it effected one area only is a mystery .Maybe just old and worn. Many thanks ,Mark.
