Help with Rockola 1442

by wft72762 » Fri Dec 16, 2011 6:47 pm

Hello, I could use some help narrowing down a problem with a Rockola 1442. I purchased this jukebox a short time ago in poor condition. I have it cleaned up and, when it plays it plays great. Sounds good and everything works. The problem is that it will play a few records, then the selection buttons seem dead and it won't play. Sometimes within a short time it will play again. Sometimes it won't play for a day. I had it playing a few days ago and it stopped and the front panel is still dead. I have been over all the connections, but can't seem to find the problem. I have never used coins to operate the jukebox or the free play button, seems that something was done to bypass and leave it in free play mode. Not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Warren,
That's a tough one--you are going to need to get out the schematics, figure out what has been done to make it play for free, and go from there --
