Thanks Ron,
The 2 scorces come together at the scan switch, scan is seems to be direct supply but the normal scource seems to come from the board . Which seems driven from a triac/transistor ironically it started to work again for a while then stopped again which i thought a triac would not do but im no expert. I guess i will work out where to purchase a set of triacs and replace them.
Additionally you are correct that the turntable is AC, bloody small schematics ! Lol. I will need to find a 50hz pulley/ motor shaft adaptor/ or a 50hz TT motor.
Any idea where i could source any of these?
Cheers
Corey

Hi Corey,
OK--that makes sense-- I would check for "poor" solder joints on that board, or a poor "plug connection" somewhere in the chain----I don't think I have ever seen an intermittent Triac either ?
For the motor --did you check with Erwin ? He may have an add-on adaptor for the motor drive shaft ?

Hi Ron,
I pulled the switch apart and cleaned it, i also detox'd it and ut back together. Works spot on now.
The carousel issue looks like the triac, pulled it out and meters dead. I have ordered some new triacs and will replace all 3.
Need to wait for them to arrive now i guess.
Cheers
Corey

Hi Cory,
Glad you found that--
How did you do on the TT motor shaft issue ?

Hi Ron,
Not much luck so far sourcing a pulley etc, i have also not heard back Erwin. I will give him a call this week.
I have had a few suggestions now to put heat shrink on the motor shaft to build it up to obtain the correct speed, i may do this as a temp solution. I will calculate the size drive i need to obtain the correct speed and look at making something to suit.
Cheers
Corey

Hi Corey,
If you speak to him, please say "hi" from me ! Thanks.
If you can calculate the size of the heat shrink--just find a tight fitting coil spring as thick as the shrink, and you should be OK--

Hi Ron,
I ended up using a 2N6348AG.
Ron or anyone else, do you know the motor rpm of the wurlitzer 1050/3700?
Cheers
Corey

Hi Corey,
Thanks--that's what I used on the last one I did--sometime ago !
Which motor--I think there area dozen or more motors in that model ( WurliTzer eng. seemed to like "motors"

) ---ALL of which NEED to be oiled, with 20 wt., IMHO !! Ron Rich

Hi Corey,
I am not sure, but I think that was a fairly common motor used by just about everyone who made phonographs, from the 1950's on.
I believe all ran the same speed, all that varied was shaft size -- maybe ?? You might try asking this question on the "Phonograph" section of this forum ? ( I think the motor maker was "GI" ?) Ron Rich

"GI" (General Industries) and Alliance were the two main "2 pole" motor manufacturers in consumer phonographs.
Each one has its good and bad points.
Nevertheless, in order for them to run properly, and at the
right speed, they need a thorough flushing of the felt oil retainers, the sintered bearings need to be heated to ooze out the old gummed oil, and re-lubricated with Zoom Spout Turbine Oil.
Anything less, and reliability is compromised - you'll have problems down the road again.
Trust me, I know.

Thanks Ron and Mat,
I will endeavor to flush them and oil it up, i will search for a how to of how to do this correctly.
I got the turntable to run at 45.5 ( heatshrink on motor shaft) after working out the motor speed etc ( im in australia on 50HZ). I could not get the heat shrink to sit perfectly round and i am getting vibrations from heatshrink. I am guessing i need to get an adaptor turned up at this stage.
Cheers
Corey
