AMI H problem

by juker » Sun Dec 15, 2013 6:09 pm

I have an AMI H200 that has been working fine for several years. It now has an interesting problem. When I make a selection
it adds 4 number pulses (the last four contacts on the pulse generator). If I pick A1 the letter wheel in the pulse converter goes to A,
and then the number wheel counts one pulse....and at the very end it adds 4, so the jukebox plays A5. It does this on all selections so
the only selection that plays correctly is K20. The manual for this model is not a lot of help. I'm guessing the problem is in the pushbutton
assembly/pulse generator?

Hi Juker,
I too am guessing that you are correct. It would seem to me that "something" is "shorting" the last four contacts, on the generator, to ground. The question is "what-where". I would suspect some foreign object is touching somewhere, OR, the cable has been trapped in some way as to cut wires, and "ground them". Good luck--please post the outcome. Ron Rich
