I've acquired another wall box, a 506.
Unfortunately, the timing belt (part No. 47596), is knackered.
It's what turns the title cards.
Victory Glass can't help.
Anyone with any ideas?

I’ve resolved the problem with the broken timing belt for this wall box.
It was in a “non runner” 506 I’ve just purchased quite cheaply. It was not in very good condition, but I only wanted it for the magazine.
This had obviously sat unused for years as there was quite a bit of UV discolouration on the exposed edges of the title card retainers on one "page" of the magazine
I used a plastic milk carton, cutting a strip about nine inches long, the same width as the belt, then roughed it up with glass paper. I cleaned it and the outside of the belt with meths and then glued them together with Araldite, keeping them in place with a lot of clothes pegs. The belt was in three pieces one of which was just the length of one “cog.”
The milk carton plastic is very thin, tough and flexible so it didn’t have a problem as the belt turned around the little cogs at both ends of the magazine. It was also thin enough not to jam against the plastic retainer that keeps the belt engaged with the cogs.
I’m still looking for another belt, as “back up.”
One thing I found, was that the donor wall box, although it had 160 titles, they weren’t in the same order as the two 507s I’ve got. But the differences were in the order of complete rows of titles, so it was just a question of swopping them round. I think that’s how they were configured, rather than someone messing with it.
I can now swop this magazine with either of the two in the 507s (it takes seconds) and with the addition of another second-hand iPod, I’ve increased the available titles to 480.
“It was something to do.”

I've managed to get a "new old stock" belt from Bill Butterfield. He canabalised a spare magazine for me.
Great service!
