Cdm12 Player replacement on Rockola CD8

I bought a non-working Rock-Ola Nostaglia with a bad CD player. The CD player in it has a sticker saying it is from a Rowe jukebox, not the Rock-Ola, so no telling where it came from. Does anyone know if I repair the player, will it be compatible with the Rock-Ola? Thanks.

First of all, there is no point in "repairing" a CDM-12 player. These were "spotty" at best, and should be replaced with a "PRO" model (direct replacement).
As for the difference between a "RockOla, and Rowe" CDM-12, up, player----just the mounting "feet" need be changed ( using proper static protection !) I have used, rebuilt players for sale--contact me off list, at ronnnnrich@yahoo.com, if you wish. Ron Rich

I agree with Ron. The 12 was junk. Buy a CDPRO or a CDPRO2. Both are directly plug n play compatible with your machine, but you will need to swap the mounting feet/posts.

John--well, yes, and no--"Rowe type" will fit all R/O's. Early R/O's are no good, as the plastic fly's off-

I replaced it with a CD PRO 2,and at first it did not work. There are 2 connectors with 4 wires (both with the same color wiring). I had the two connectors reversed, and when I switch them it plays fine. The CD PRO 2 came out of a Rowe and plays great in the Rock-Ola. The 4 wire harness that goes towards the front side of the jukebox is marked with a black marker from the factory, and the one that faces the back of the jukebox was marked with a yellow/orange marker, It is playing fine now!
