His Master's Voice 101

Hi everyone,

I bought a HMV 101 yesterday for €25,00, and it's in a very beaten up state. The previous owned said it was left out in the rain, and that really left some marks on the casing, please take a look at these pictures:

The grammophone does work though, and sounds amazing even at this beaten up state. Now my question is, can I still get new leatherette for this grammophone? It would be great if it could be replaced, I have already revived the wood on the inside and it looks pretty nice. I also found out I am missing the part that you can put your favorite records in, and the soundbox isn't original either.

Also, to remove the crank, aren't you just supposed to turn it the other side until it comes loose? Mine is frozen solid if you try to turn it to the other side and I don't want to force it and break something.

Cheers,
Goomba
