Hello, newbi here. Been lurking for a time now but have a question about my juke, if I'm reading my manual correct I will need the ccc. Here is what is happening, the number display is out but the make selection light is on, the display on the ccc is not working and when you first plug it in no spin on the basket or anything. The fluorescent light work and if I hold down the cam switch lever and then touch needle the speakers let me know that the amp is still ok. The 8 volt light on the computer board is all that is on. The mech board lights are not on and I have resoldered and cleaned everything. I guess I'm looking to see if you guys think this correct or not. I've also heard that a chip mod is available for this, does this sound like a chip problem? Sorry for being so long winded. Thanks again.

Hello Roger,

Have you checked that the power supply unit led's are all lit and that the power rails (28 & 8 volts DC and the 28 volts AC) is present at the power supply and at the service switch.

Dry joints (cold joints) can be a problem on the power supply PCB (usually the long connection from the transformer and the top & bottom connection on the Pricing Board (all lines of data go through this board).

It is rare for the Custom chip to be at fault.

I suggest that you have the CCC, Mechanism Control Unit and the Pricing Board tested. There are people in the USA that offer this service and myself in the UK.

Regards
Alan

Thanks Ami-Man, I don't know who would check these boards out, Like I said I'm in a pretty small town. I did some more checking and the only light on the ccc board is the 8 volt led. The mech board has only the opti index led on.I have checked the voltages the manual says should be to the mech board, 8 volts and 28 volts ac and dc, and there present. I find if I switch the service switch off and on the display on the ccc will flash during the in-between of off and on just for a flash. Nothing makes the keypad display light up. Thanks again for your help.
