anyone see that 1930's Capehart automatic on just listed on Ebay???....i love that machine. i wouldn't mind ever finding one locally. but im shure people in Kansas couldn't afford that at the time. all i see here are single play electrics, and Victrola type players, and 40's Radio changer combos...and newer 50's 60's and 70's stuff of coarse....but in the 20's or the 30's i cant see anyone here being able to afford those....

I've always found the "play one record at a time" changers fascinating. yes i have seen those vids...=)......and i love the innovative thinking that went into those...and not to mention the quality....theirs a reason there still serviceable after 80 plus years.

The Victrolas featured in the video actually pre-date the merger between the Victor Talking Machine Co. and "The Radio Corporation of America" or RCA. RCA acquired Victor in 1929. Contrary to what has been reported on other sites, Victor was in no way teetering on bankruptcy at the time of the merger. As for quality issues, I've heard that RCA Victor (home consumer) products started to go down hill when Robert Sarnoff took over the reins in 1970, but couldn't state this as fact.

well, i half way kinda believe it....there have been a few 70's RCA products that ive seen and had, that seemed like they wernt as well even thought out as some from the early 60's and before....
