I know seeburg came out with the 1000 system in 1959 and the "Microwave" self contained unit in 1963 but does anyone know what the last year was that these machines were actually sold? I've read online that Seeburg still had records made into the early 1980's,but when did they actually stop selling the players?

Good question...I too, have been bitten by the Seeburg 1000 bug. I've been collecting jukes since around 1977 and have just recently gained an appreciation for them...The only thing that i DO know is that they sold the records up until the mid-1980's. I've amassed about 550-600 of these special 162/3 rpm records and the latest I've found is from 1985. I don't think they lasted much longer than that. On a personal note, I much rather enjoy the early '60's "department store" style that they used on their basic records from that era. the later stuff lacks something. FWIW, there is a fellow that had purchased TONS of these records and the units off of ebay about a year ago. Nice guy and fairly well-versed in these units without being a know it all. Why don't you PM me or better yet, just email me at bender norm at yahoo dot com and I'll provide you the info. He also may have that schematic you were looking for. When emailing me, don't use a space between bender norm.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Ron, thanks for the reply and, yes, I'm also on Yahoo Seeburg Groups but I find that group INCREDIBLY difficult to slog through. Phonoland is much better IMHO.

Doc,
Yes--"slogg" is a great way to put it--but somehow, I arranged a long time ago,to have it emailed to me, so I don't actually go to the group, unless I elect to, on each post--Ron Rich

Hmmm, I forgot about that option..I'm going to look into it now...I wonder, though, how many people are on here that AREN'T on there & vice~versa...Phonoland certainly just seems friendlier-not the posts, mind you, but the set up.
