Wurlitzer 2100 sound question

by juker » Fri Dec 05, 2014 11:07 pm

Hi all. I just finished rebuilding the sound system on my Wurlitzer 2100. Complete recap of the amp and found several resistors that needed replacing. All speakers original and in good shape. I installed a new cobra cartridge that I had.
My problem is the bass. The jukebox sounds amazing, great mids and highs but the bass is overwhelming when the volume is turned up. I know the Wurlitzers from this era have good bass, as I have a 2000 that sounds very good but this one has way too much. Even on the lowest setting it can literally rattle the photos on nearby walls when turned up. This juke would be great for a high school dance but it is abit too much for my house and I'm thinking over time the jukebox may develop rattles.
Any ideas, besides changing the cobra out to reduce the bass?
