AMI G-200 selection issue

by tonily » Thu May 16, 2013 9:08 pm

Hello everyone!
I am almost done restoring an AMI G200, gone thru the amp, the popularity pin counter, the pulse converter, and pulse generator...It is working except for one issue which is as follows;
It will not select any of the #1s...When I make a selection wich includes a #1 the machine will cycle and play the corresponding #2 ( A1=A2---B1=B2----C1=C2---D1=D2 etc, etc)....The rest of the selections work perfectly starting with #2 thru #20. It is just this one problem with the #1s... I have looked at the contacts for #1 & #2 on the keyboard and these seem to open and close OK..It is driving me crazy just finished spending over 4.5 hrs trying to find the cause of this problem without success. Perhaps someone can shed some light on what could be causing this problem.

Thanks,

Tonily

Hi Tonily,
Only thing I can think of--and it's a WAG--is a pinched wire somewhere in the system, causing a second pulse when #1 is selected ?
