I got a package of new mech rubber parts from A1. Should I replace the turntable bushings? If so what is the easiest way to do it. Any gotchas when putting it back together so the turntable is in alignment?

Not unless the existing ones have dried to the point that the turntable has too much rotational slop.

I've only done this once- that was when one had dried and disintegrated to the point that it would have affected the speed consistency.

None of those I have on location have needed this repair.

Don't give yourself more work than necessary here, if you are not totally familiar with this mechanism tinkering just opens opportunity for an f-up.

Hi Big,
That can be a simple 10 minute job, or it can be a complicated 10 hour job ! Depends on if the turntable has seized to the bearings. Look at them, if they look good, they are still good. I have replaced about 50 pair of them over the years--If yours look bad, PM me--
As Rob indicated, if it ain't broke, don't fixit !

P.S.--for anyone doing this--they are "drawn incorrectly" in most of the parts books--

OK, will not attempt unless absolutely necessary!
