Wow. Of all the issues with these machines, I find cleaning all the years of nicotine, tar and goo the hardest.

Hello everyone. Ok I did as adviced and used a meter. I located 25VAC/gound/signal. I hooked it all up but the number selector does not engage. I hard wired the other wires to the 6 pin plug. On the back I still have 2 wires. A solid brown with a white strip, and a solid tanned wire with a black strip. What did I not do correctly?

Ron, I managed to get the 3w100 to work with the stepper. Both the letter and number selector dial, but the selector in the rok ola just keeps spinning in circles. Help!

I think you've asked the wrong guy--as I have stated, above, I have never worked on these units !
My GUESS would be that the contacts on the stepper are not making--or at least one is failing --but that is a GUESS-- Ron Rich

Ok, I got the stepper to work on both letter and number selection but that is it. I checked the Jones plug but no luck, so I wired it to the blue plug that says "Remote Wallbox". When I press a selection, the signal gets to the juke box, but the carriage keeps spinning and no selection is made. Also, when the stepper is plugged into the Jukebox, the buttons on the Jukebox will not work.

Ok, I finally managed to get the stepper to play "nice" with the jukebox. At first the numbers would not register, then I remembered Ron mentioning the plastic wheels cracking and jamming. Sure enough, Ron was bang on. The Letter wheel was black plastic and had no issues. The number wheel was white plastic, cracked and jammed. I removed it, cleaned it and with a drill, I made the shaft hole a little wider, reloaded the wheel and spring and it worked like new. Now my only issue is that I am unsure as to how to make the selections on the 3w100 to match the 443. The A"S ,B's, J's and K's do not even register. The letters and numbers in between I can just match to the cards to the 443. Help.

Glad you have it "working"-I don't know the RO numbering system--just may have to "count pulses" and match wiring on the stepper to them--
Big "project", but should be "do-able"-- Ron Rich

It is too late in this case, but for those reading who encounter this problem I do NOT recommend reaming the stepper bearing hole out with a drill or anything else.
The reason is simple; in so doing you have created a rough, abrasive bearing surface that will abrade the softer material of the stepper gear. For home use it may not matter but this will shorten the life of the stepper gear.

When-if the gear finally c breaks it will no longer be possible to use another gear unless it too is similarly swollen and cracked.

What I had suggested was to hold the wheel shaft in a drill and turn it slowly while holding a fine contact file against the swollen section of the plastic.

At best this approach I've used for my location machines is a kludge -but it has lasted for almost 20 years so-far.

You can buy the Stepper gear & shaft 133-4 and 133-7 from Jukebox Revival
